Pre-light Experience

The Davidoff Aniversario No. 1 Limited Edition is beautiful in presentation. Once removed from the tubo, you have a cigar that is firm throughout with a lovely cap. Small veins and a fine leather texture. Aomas of raisins, cedar, hay and soft earth followed by a red pepper spice. Some tobacco present as well. Beautiful, and massive cigar. Between Natural and soft Colorado in coloring. Golden hay.

First Third

The first third opens up with tobacco and soft earth notes. There are some faint peanut butter qualities, and it is paired with hay and honey. Spices present on the finish with some coffee and cream. Balanced cigar. Medium in strength and body.

Second Third

The second third delivered a flavor profile of damp wood, earth and tobacco. You could get the peanut butter flavor on the finish. There were some cream and hay aspects as well, though softer than before. Finish had a nice spice and coffee quality. Medium in strength and body.

Final Third

The final third had a profile in line with the second, but much earthier. Mineral notes with some cream. Damp wood and tobacco. Bits of peanut butter on the finish with some pepper spice. Medium in strength and body.

Burn

Great burn from start to finish.

Draw

Perfect draw.

Overall

This Davidoff Aniversario No. 1 Limited Edition was a nice Double Corona. From beginning to end it had my attention with the flavors delivered and it’s balance. Nice level of complexity. Not much transitioning, but you don’t find that a lot with Davidoff. It did have that solid and fairly complex core flavor profile however, and the peanut butter notes were enjoyable. The combination of spices with that made for a nice touch on the finish. Great evening smoke when you have tons of time. Warm summer evenings are here. Perfect strength and body level as well for the flavors and cigar in general. Cigar has also aged well since the fall of last year.
