Appearance

The Modern Times Blazing World has a clean white can with Modern Times font, and different color red and black line bands at the bottom. The beer pours like an amber ale with a normal white head.

Aroma

I pick up roasted hops off the pour. After that, I’m detecting sweet tropical citrus and hoppiness, along with caramelized brown sugar.

Flavor

The flavor on each sip is a sweet tropical citrus then brown sugar sweetness as the citrus gives way.

Balance

The sweetness, and citrus hoppy body here is very well balanced, especially given that it’s 85 IBUs. There’s no tannic, or astringent notes here at all.

Finish

There is a medium strength piney, tropical citrus finish that gives way to mild brown sugar sweetness.

Overall

The Modern Times Blazing World is a tasty, balanced and satisfying beer. This could be my go to amber style beer going forward.

This is one of my top 5, if not top 3, beers period. If you like amber/red, it is a must try. I find that it pairs very well with a wide range of cigars also.
