The Modern Times City Of The Dead Nitro sets a reliable benchmark for what a good nitro stout should be. Coffee, almonds, chocolate, salt, all balanced, along with an enjoyable sweet creamy mouthfeel that anchors everything together. This one is sure to be in my regular rotation.
The Modern Times Fortunate Islands is a mash up of two different styles, and I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy it. I'm always eager to try new beers that push the style envelope, and this beer does a great job of it.
The Modern Times Blazing World is a tasty, balanced and satisfying beer. This could be my go to amber style beer going forward.
The Modern Times Orderville is a solid beer in the hazy IPA category. Although it's not strictly sessionable at 7.2%, the flavor isn't overwhelmingly hoppy, and delivers a balanced citrus experience.
The Modern Times Black House was an enjoyable coffee stout. The use of 75% Ethiopian and 25% Sumatran gives it a coffee profile that stands out from the average coffee stout on the market, at an ABV that isn't overpowering.
