Appearance

As with the other releases from Belching Beaver Brewery there is a beaver displayed prominently on the bottle. The color scheme is gold-brown against blue. When I pour the Beavers Milk Stout Nitro, it has a dark stout like appearance with a tan head about one quarter to a half inch thick.

Aroma

Nosing the beer, it has a great toasted coffee aroma with some subdued sweetness underneath.

Flavor

Each sip delivers a big sweet lactose flavor with nitro creaminess on the mouthfeel. The coffee on the aroma never develops and I’m not able to pick up any other flavors during the review.

Balance

The sweetness and creaminess take over the flavor profile, and I’m not able to pick up any coffee or toasted malts.

Finish

As with the flavor profile, the finish here is entirely lactose sweetness.

Overall

The Belching Beaver Beavers Milk Stout Nitro is tasty, but it lacks the depth and complexity I found in other Belching Beaver releases. Enjoyable but simple is how I would describe it.
