IPCPR 2019: What’s In My Trade Show Floor Toiletry Kit – Seth Geise

With people talking about what they are carrying in their backpack while on the IPCPR trade show floor, I wanted to talk about what’s in my toiletry kit. Self-care is very important and what better way to feel better, both spiritually and emotionally, than to care for ourselves physically. Some may find this ridiculous and unnecessary, but towards the end of the day when some are feeling dirty, drained and overall disgusting, I feel that freshening myself up gives me a boost of energy. Let’s take a look inside this kit!

To begin with, I have a simple and affordable toiletry kit from SWISSGEAR that I got at Target. You don’t need anything fancy on the floor.

Inside the small pouch I have a couple small items.

  • Q-Tips – I don’t go generic with my cotton swabs. These cotton swabs come in handy for so many things. Cleaning off phone cases, lighters, you name it.
  • Nail clippers – You never know when you are going to need some nail clippers, so I am always prepared. I don’t pull broken nails.
  • Tweezerman Ultra Precision Slant Tweezers – Nothing worse than noticing the random brow hair that you can’t do anything about. Well, I don’t have that problem when I have some tweezers with me. Plus, if I get a splinter or have a loose small nail, I’m in good shape.
  • Tide To Go Mini – Stains are inevitable. There is bound to be a time where you spill something, or someone bumps into you. If it happens, I’m prepared to address as best as possible at the time and be in better shape when I get the shirt/pants dry cleaned.
  • Lip Balm – I’m into this Coconut & Honey Lip Balm by NakedBee right now. Its all organic, unlike the Burt’s Bees sellouts, and I’m a fan of coconuts and honey. Lip protection is always important.
  • Billy Jealousy Beard Comb – Got this in a beard kit and it’s a great titanium comb. If you’re going to have a beard, take care of it. Wash, condition, beard oil and comb.
  • Collar Stays – The amount of times where I have had to go home to put collar stays in is enough to drive me crazy. I leave spare collar stays in my car and office now. Sometimes you can get back to your room or house with ease, and sometimes not. To stay prepared, I bring some with me in the toiletry kit. I am using these metal ones from Charles Tyrwhitt which are fairly universal. They work well on most spread collars, I wear a lot of English Spread, but they may be too large for a Londoner style or too short for a Straight Point.

Inside the large pouch I have the major items.

  • Deoderant – This is straight forward. With that being said, be careful when applying if you are wearing a dark shirt so you don’t get deodorant stains.
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste and floss – Dental hygiene never takes vacations. Besides the fact that it is important, there are times where brushing your teeth really goes a long way in improving how you feel. Also, flossing after each meal is very beneficial. I don’t want to be that guy with food between his teeth.
  • Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream – Always moisturize. They say you can use on hands, body and face, but I only use facial lotion on my face. Moisturizing the hands a couple times a day goes a long way!
  • Billy Jealousy Beard Oil – Digging this brand right now and its always great to freshen up the beard. Helps in the overall appearance greatly!
  • Redken Brews Texture Pomade – I have thinner hair and with what I am going for, I need maximum hold. I also want a more matte finish and this product gives me both.
  • Yes to Cucumber Facial Wipes – Cucumbers are fantastic for your skin. Cucumbers are great in general. These facial wipes are fantastic for cleaning up and freshening up. They also feel great on your hands. You can’t wash your face during the middle of the day, that’s not practical, but you can use wipes with ease. (Fantastic in airports and planes as well.)
  • Yes to Cucumber Daily Calming Moisturizing – Always important to moisturize. Keep the face hydrated and skin glowing. Perfect to use after cleaning the face off. (Fantastic in airports and planes as well.)
  • Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Eau De Toilette Spray – Old faithful. Been using this fragrance for years. Remember, don’t go overboard with cologne.

Well, there you have it. Just some minor things that help me get through the trade show, day after day. It may seem overboard and come off as a major hassle, but I assure you that the juice is worth the squeeze.

Smart mouth needs to be added to the kit. Revitalization and refresh of the palate after smoking all day is a must.

Smart mouth is the only product I’ve found that will put you back on track.

I’m not sure exactly why I clicked on this, but the collar stay discussion made it well worth it.
