Traditionally, our PCA (formerly IPCPR) trade show recap shows have all been from the media point of view. This year it is evolving and in addition to media members, we are bringing in cigar brand exhibitors and retailers that attended the show. The goal is to get insight on the event from all three perspectives as well as thoughts on the future of the event.
The IPCPR 2019 trade show is over and I wanted to do a write-up on my thoughts from the show.

Self-care is very important and what better way to feel better, both spiritually and emotionally, than to care for ourselves physically. The International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR) has announced the hiring of David Jessup as its new regional lobbyist. David brings significant government affairs experience to the position, serving most recently as the Chief of Staff for Michigan state Senator Jim Marleau where he became an expert on the budget process, coalition building, and media relations.
The International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR) has announced the hiring of Lisa Cox, CMP as its new Senior Director of Trade Show & Events. Cox brings significant trade show experience to the position, serving most recently as the Vice President of Events at the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions, where she oversaw 13 meetings and the annual trade show.
Today, IPCPR, the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association, launched a brand new grassroots website, cigaraction.org. This site will be a great resource not just for retailers, but for the broader public to get involved with public policy issues that affect premium cigars.
Yesterday, IPCPR and Cigar Rights of America filed a joint comment in response to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s ongoing review of how it should define and treat premium cigars.
