David brings significant government affairs experience to the position, serving most recently as the Chief of Staff for Michigan state Senator Jim Marleau where he became an expert on the budget process, coalition building, and media relations.
The International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR) has announced the hiring of Lisa Cox, CMP as its new Senior Director of Trade Show & Events. Cox brings significant trade show experience to the position, serving most recently as the Vice President of Events at the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions, where she oversaw 13 meetings and the annual trade show.
Today, IPCPR, the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association, launched a brand new grassroots website, cigaraction.org. This site will be a great resource not just for retailers, but for the broader public to get involved with public policy issues that affect premium cigars.

Earlier today, D.C. District Court Judge Amit Mehta issued an injunction prohibiting the U.S. Food & Drug Administration from enforcing its warning label requirements on cigars and pipe tobacco. The warning label requirements for packaging and advertising were slated to go into effect on August 10th.
Today, the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association, Cigar Association of America, and Cigar Rights of America were pleased to announce the adoption of language in the FY 2019 budget as approved by the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations that works to protect premium cigars from overreaching and burdensome regulations, as proposed by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
