This June, United Cigars will release the E.P. Carrillo Pledge Firecracker. Since 2010, United Cigars has collaborated annually with fellow cigar makers to release a limited edition Firecracker commemorating Independence Day.
The MLB lockout may delay the start of the baseball season, but United Cigars has a different opening in store. The Big Papi Firecracker is set for Firecracker fans to light up for the scheduled MLB Opening Day. This Special Edition Big Papi Firecracker is a variation of the Slugger line by El Artista with an added boost to the blend from third-generation owner Ram Rodriguez.
The Bandolero line uses 5-year-old tobaccos and is aged for a minimum of two years post roll. This limited release has all the components of its premium sibling but will have an MSRP of $180 per box of 20/$9 for the single.
The HVC Black Friday Firecracker packed a significant amount of flavor complexity, given the small size that it had to work with. It was also easily the strongest HVC that I've ever smoked, and even though I'm very used to smoking cigars at the full end of the spectrum, the HVC hit me solidly with strength at a few points.
United Cigars is releasing a second Limited Release Firecracker with HVC Cigars called the HVC Black Friday Firecracker, uniting the success of the HVC Black Friday released in 2015.
This year the first Firecracker release comes from Glen Case and Kristoff Cigars. It’s based off the Pistoff Kristoff blend which features a San Andres wrapper over Indonesia binder and Nicaragua fillers. The blend starts off with a bang and continues right through the explosive finish.
The RoMa Craft CroMagnon Firecracker 2018 is my second experience with a Firecracker offering and they have both been positive. If you're a fan of the CroMangnon line, then smoking this is a no brainer, if you can still find them. For those that bought these, they are great shorter smokes that give you the profile you're accustomed to. I would have no problem smoking more of these.
The Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Mi Querida Firecracker was a short experience in time and good on flavor. If you're looking for some strength and darker flavors in a short smoking time, this is a great option and I could see smoking many more of these in the future.
