Appearance

There’s no question immediately after pouring the HAZY Collective that this is a hazy IPA style. The color is an opaque bright orange, approaching neon. The head has a modest creamy appearance.

Aroma

The aroma on the HAZY is a hoppy orange with edges of lemon and sweetness.

Flavor

The flavor profile is orange, lemon and piney hops with a sweet creamy mouthfeel. The hop flavors don’t come through on the initial sip but at the end of the tasting. Each sip hits me with sweetness, orange, orange rind, lemon and a piney hop astringency all at just under a medium strength level.

Balance

The hops and sweetness are nicely balanced. The hop flavors are fairly pronounced, but there is just enough creamy sweetness coming through so that it doesn’t take over the flavor profile.

Finish

The finish on the HAZY Collective is largely piney hops that lasts a relatively long time.

Overall

The Collective Arts Brewing Collective Project Hazy was an enjoyable IPA that was quite sessionable. I would seek these out in the future and would not hesitate to enjoy two back to back.
