The worth of something compared to the price paid or asked for it
This list is meant to represent the cigars with the best value (bang for the buck), not the best low cost cigars. The way that we determined value was by taking our Cost/Point Ratio, which is calculated by dividing the MSRP of the cigar by the score, and subtracting that ratio from the score. The number that this generates is the gap between the score and the Cost/Point Ratio. The higher the value score the better.
You’ll see some changes to our list this year from previous years. We have converted to a singular list for the site rather than publishing a list for each of the reviewers on the site. This is to create a more uniform list. It is still based on the review results and it is now calculated based on weighting the ranking of each reviewers individual list and then totaling that number for each cigar and then ranking the cigars based on the total value scores from that weighting.
Also, the list is no longer a list that can change as we will no longer update the list with any reviews in the future that we do for the date window of 2020 releases. We set a target list of reviews and completed them and will keep it set to those.

There are links to each reviewers list below the singular list to show full transparency.
- Only cigars that were released between January 1, 2020 and October 31, 2020 are eligible. (Future years will use a November 1 to October 31 eligibility window)
- Cigar has to have been reviewed on the site.
