Crowned Heads has announced the first regular production brand extension to their popular Juarez cigar line. The 5 1/2" x 48 parejo will be called 'Chihuahua,' not as a reference to the small dog breed, but rather, to the fact that Juarez is one of the 67 municipalities of the state of Chihuahua, in northern Mexico.
Give me a good tasting profile for two thirds of the cigar and a flawless draw and burn, all wrapped up in a ~$6 USD price point and I say you've got yourself a winner. I've had some excellent Mexican San Andrés wrapped cigars from Crowned Heads in 2018 (Court Reserve XVIII, Buckeye Land) and the Crowned Heads Juarez Robusto is really no exception.
Crowned Heads announces "Juarez," a cigar inspired by 'Jericho Hill' and made exclusively for Thompson Cigar Co. Like 'Jericho,' 'Juarez' features a dark Mexican (San Andres} wrapper, but the blend departs from there, as the binder is Ecuadorian (Sumatra) and the filler tobaccos are a mix of tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.
