Personal Cigar Review: Crux Epicure Gordo

Personal Cigar Review: Crux Epicure Gordo

The Crux Epicure Gordo had a nice start with a good combination of flavors. From the second third on, the enjoyment level dropped down a notch as there were some transitions and the profile became a bit dry. The Crux Epicure Maduro Corona Gorda was a good offering of the Epicure Maduro blend in a vitola that seems to shine. The first third was the most complex, and the second third delivered enough flavor balance to maintain interest. The complexity fell off in the last third but was still pleasant.

The new blend builds upon the success of the Crux Epicure, but is wrapped in a premium Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper, with Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The combination results in a medium-full flavored cigar delivering notes of rich mocha, cedar, earth, and black pepper that are bound together with an underlying creaminess.
