Romeo y Julieta (Altadis)

Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Corona

Personal Cigar Review: Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Corona

The Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Corona had an average flavor profile throughout, focused around toasted cedar, earth and black pepper. It's a pretty traditional Connecticut shade flavor profile that carries some dryness. It was able to dodge too much bitterness and overwhelming paper notes. While it's not a cigar I'd see myself coming back to frequently, for those that really enjoy the traditional style of the cigar, it is one to check out.

Romeo y Julieta 150th Anniversary Balconet

Team Cigar Review: Romeo y Julieta 150th Anniversary Balconet

So my eyes weren't deceiving me. The elegance of the packaging matched the smoking experience. The overall flavor profile showed good harmony, touching on sweetness, sourness and tannins (which helped with the body). It's been a while since I liked something out of Altadis, so this Romeo y Julieta 150th Anniversary Balconet was definitely a much needed win. Well done.

Romeo y Julieta 1875 Vintage Lote Limited Edition

Team Cigar Review: Romeo y Julieta 1875 Vintage Lote Limited Edition

The Romeo y Julieta 1875 Vintage Lote Limited Edition had an average flavor profile throughout, just focused around the toasted aged cedar, earth, mustiness and black pepper. The aged nature of this cigar was very present as it was fairly mellow and a bit flat. Not a cigar I'd see coming back to, but I could see it pairing well with a non-peated Scotch.

Romeo y Julieta Envy Amulet

Personal Cigar Review: Romeo y Julieta Envy Amulet

The Romeo y Julieta Envy Amulet had an average flavor profile through the first two thirds with a dry profile focused around toasted cedar, dry earth and black pepper. The final third dropped a level as the char appeared. Overall, I wasn't impressed with this cigar as the flavor profile was pretty mundane and didn't finish well. Not a cigar I'd see myself returning to.

Team Cigar Review: Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Nicaragua Toro

I really enjoyed the Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Nicaragua Toro and it is a cigar I would smoke again and purchase. There was not a ton of transitioning, but the flavor profile delivered was solid and enjoyable. I think this is a brilliant release for Romeo, and with so many consumers sticking to the tried and true cigar and brands, this will do incredibly well.

Team Cigar Review: Romeo y Julieta 1875 Nicaragua Toro

The Romeo Y Julieta 1875 Nicaragua Toro is an average, albeit pleasant light-medium bodied cigar that will be popular with the Connecticut Shade category of cigar smoker. The strength never goes beyond medium, and the flavor intensity won't scare away casual smokers. With an attractive price point, and a 2+ hour smoking time, you're getting a significant value proposition with this cigar.
