The Plasencia Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Eduardo I is now shipping to retailers. Available in a Toro Box Pressed 6 1/4 x 54, the vitola named Eduardo I is in dedication to the very first generation of the Plasencia tobacco family. The new vitola was introduced to retailers in July at the 2022 PCA in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I equate the experience with the Plasencia Cosecha 149 La Vega to drinking a nice high rye bourbon, focusing on a nuanced blend of spices, but also having enough softer flavors of roasted nuts. The spice delivery was unique and not your traditional spices, centered around baking spices, white pepper spice and a hint of Chinese five spice. Well done and will be back for more.

The Plasencia Cosecha 149 is a Box-Pressed Honduran puro using tobacco from the Plasencia family’s various Honduran farms. This medium to full-bodied blend features plenty of spice and toasty crispness (which is unique to Honduran tobacco). The smoking experience changes to a smoother, balanced middle finish. Housed in 10-count boxes the Cosecha 149 boasts a beautifully designed copper foil band.

This blend is a Nicaraguan puro created with tobaccos curated from the vast Plasencia tobacco portfolio. The Alma del Campo series of cigars is known for its perfect balance, complex flavors, delivering notes of coffee and nuts. It is a very creamy cigar, with a hint of spice.
The first third of the Plasencia Alma del Fuego Concepción really reminded me of Christmas for some reason, but after that, things became average until the final third when creamy coffee rescued the cigar from continuing to be average. I'm interested to smoke this in another vitola in hopes of seeing that first third profile last longer as I really enjoyed it. I would smoke this again and see this as a nice addition to the company portfolio.
Alma del Fuego, which translates to “Soul of the Fire,” is a representation of the volcanic soils that stem from the iconic Ometepe Island in Nicaragua, the land where the majority of the filler tobacco leaves for this cigar were harvested.
