Team Cigar Review: AVO Syncro 10th Anniversary Limited Edition

The AVO Syncro 10th Anniversary Limited Edition had a nice start with a good mix of flavors and balance. It took a step down in the second third as the mushroom note departed and the mustiness and pepper mellowed. It maintained that level the rest of the way. Overall, another cigar that couldn't maintain an interesting profile past the first third. Even without the high price point, I wouldn't see myself returning to this and just smoke the regular production offerings.

I enjoyed the AVO Expressions Limited Edition 2024, but it also seemed too expensive for the cigar. The flavor profile of cedar, hay, tobacco and spices is always a classic, and AVO does it well, so delivering a similar quality with an LE is silly. I guess you can say this is a good cigar, and a good AVO, but a bad LE. But, that is the case for many cigars.

Personal Cigar Review: AVO Seasons Spring Limited Edition 2023

The AVO Seasons Spring Limited Edition 2023 had a nice start with a good combination of flavors. From the second third on though, it dropped a level as the baking spice waned and the earth increased. I really enjoyed how things began, but unfortunately, the cigar couldn't maintain that profile and became average the rest of the way. Not a cigar I'd see myself coming back to, but I'm curious to try the other seasons that will follow this one.

The AVO Syncro Caribe Toro navigated a good array of light and subtle flavors, and brought them all together in combinations that kept me engaged and interested for the entire review. The draw and burn were both flawless. I would happily smoke the AVO Syncro Caribe Toro again, and it would go on a list of AVO cigars that are noteworthy in the past few years.

The AVO Syncro Caribe focuses on the characteristics of the Caribbean. This dynamic cigar was blended to showcase a process we are calling ‘Natural Distribution’ in which the proportions of the tobaccos on any given plant is perfectly matched in the blending process. Specifically, the ratios of tobaccos from each priming are matched in the blend in all vitolas.

I am not one of those guys that is crazy about the Avo Classic line. However, the AVO Classic Belicoso is lightyears better than the other vitolas in the line and I would revisit quite frequently. There is complexity, depth and transitioning throughout. Great to see them bring back this cigar, even if it is for a short time.
