Joya de Nicaragua Cuatro Cinco Secret Cask

Team Cigar Review: Joya de Nicaragua Cuatro Cinco Secret Cask

Flavor-wise, the cigar remains approachable and well-behaved but lacks the depth, progression or intensity needed to rise above an Average overall impression. This Joya de Nicaragua Cuatro Cinco Secret Cask feels like a cigar built for consistency rather than memorability. It's competent, clean and easy to smoke, but not one that demands a second look.

Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Pyramid

Personal Cigar Review: Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Pyramid

The Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Pyramid had a nice flavor profile through the first two thirds as the combination of flavors was well balanced. It took a step down in the final third as the toast level became pretty heavy and the earth increased. This is a well done Connecticut shade offering. The creaminess really helps in these profiles to keep dryness and/or bitterness at bay. This is a nice, long standing line that has a good price point. An easy return for me.

Crowned Heads Tennessee Waltz CG

Team Cigar Review: Crowned Heads Tennessee Waltz CG

Flavor-wise, the profile and progression strongly suggest a Nicaraguan character of earthy, wood-driven and spice-accented. In the end, this Crowned Heads Tennessee Waltz CG is a cigar that delivers consistency and solid construction but falls short of leaving a lasting impression, landing comfortably in Average territory.

Rocky Patel Thirtieth Anniversary Toro

Team Cigar Review: Rocky Patel Thirtieth Anniversary Toro

A cigar that doesn't look the part and it certainly doesn't taste the part. The Rocky Patel Thirtieth Anniversary Toro didn't have much going for it with its dull and fragile wrapper and tasting notes that ranged from odd to unbalanced, and straight up weird. This is not my cup of tea to any extent.

Avowed Awakening

Personal Cigar Review: Avowed Awakening

The Avowed Awakening had a nice start with a unique creamy, musty, chalky, toasted cedar. It took a step down in the second third as the creaminess departed and the mustiness gained a dampness and remained at the level the rest of the way. This was the initial line for the brand and felt a bit aggressive with such a high price point. I like how it started, but it just couldn't build on that past the first third. I don't believe these cigars exist anymore, so I'm not eager to try to track any down.

Paul Garmirian PG Gourmet Series 35th Anniversary Connoisseur

Team Cigar Review: Paul Garmirian PG Gourmet Series 35th Anniversary Connoisseur

In the end, this Paul Garmirian PG Gourmet Series 35th Anniversary Connoisseur is a solid, traditionally styled cigar that performs well and shows flashes of balance, particularly in the middle portion. It lands in average territory not because it falters significantly, but because it plays things safe and never quite delivers a defining moment that sets it apart.

Martin Kove's The Prodigal Son

Team Cigar Review: Martin Kove’s The Prodigal Son

Ok, so back to this celebrity cigar that does not suck comment. It's surprising. It's rare. And when I find a good one, it's a happy moment. The flavor approach of the Martin Kove's The Prodigal Son is nuanced and subtle overall which makes me think it's more established for seasoned cigar smokers. Grab a couple and be surprised with me.

La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Natural Chisel

Personal Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Natural Chisel

The La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Natural Chisel had a nice start, with a smooth combination of flavors. It took a step down in the second third as the pepper moved around a fair amount and maintained that level the rest of the way. I really enjoy the Chisel head, but the cigar wasn't all that interesting past the first third. I don't see myself really coming back to this cigar.

Cavalier Genève Project Broadleaf Wayfinders Toro

Team Cigar Review: Cavalier Genève Project Broadleaf Wayfinders Toro

Overall flavor experience with the Cavalier Genève Project Broadleaf Wayfinders Toro was just ok. My favorite part was the second third where the flavor profile was less sharp and introduced more of the Connecticut broadleaf type notes (cocoa, cream). But it wasn't enough as most of the cigar was either a tad too sharp or dropped off in flavors. I'd pass on this one.

Stoic Equanimity Moderation

Team Cigar Review: Stoic Equanimity Moderation

The Stoic Equanimity Moderation was a good cigar. It had a nice core flavor profile that was present throughout the experience. There was some minor transitioning throughout the cigar, and it has a nice body and strength level. The wrapper was not too overpowering with the size, and I appreciate that the cigar was not overpowering with the wrapper.
