Aroma
I was able to pick up faint toasted malts and mild coffee, with some underlying sweet creaminess.
Flavor
Each sip reveals bitter toasted malts that gives way to toasted coffee, caramel and chocolate. As the flavor fades away, and the beer warms up, I’m getting some metallic copper flavors.
Balance
Each of the flavor notes seem very balanced in intensity against each other, with coffee being the only one standing out.
Finish
The finish is very long, with toasted espresso and caramel that lingers and then fades to sweet chocolate.

Overall
The Ravens Brewing English Dark Mild goes to show you don’t need sky high ABV numbers to deliver rich layers of flavor.
