Appearance

The Postmark Stout comes in a black, tall can with Postmark in white font. The beer itself pours appropriately stout black, thick and creamy.

Aroma

The aroma from the beer is oatmeal, coffee, chocolate and toasted malts.

Flavor

I’m able to taste bitter, malty chocolate that gives way to oatmeal and creaminess. The profile doesn’t alter very much as the beer warms up.

Balance

The toasted malt, chocolate, oatmeal. bitterness and sweetness are all fairly well balanced. The sweetness does get pushed down against the other bigger flavors.

Finish

Each sip lingers with bitter chocolate that gives way to sweet oatmeal. The bitter and oatmeal flavors have a medium length finish.

Overall

The Postmark Stout is a sessionable stout with a classic flavor profile. The profile isn’t particularly complex, and doesn’t have any unique qualities to elevate it above other beers in the same style. With that said, I will happily enjoy this beer again.
