Appearance

The Outcast Last Minute Stout is in a slate gray tall can with a Tyrannosaurus Rex making a sandwich on the front. The beer pours black with a medium thick white foamy head.

Aroma

The beer has aromas of vanilla, hazelnut and cocoa nibs, almost a Nutella experience going on.

Flavor

With each sip, I’m getting a creamy mouthfeel, and then hazelnut hits you at the mid palate, finishing with the cocoa nibs I was getting on the aroma. The vanilla seems lost here underneath the other flavors. As the beer warms up, the vanilla begins to push in mid palate, with the nutty flavors at the end of each sip.

Balance

For the initial experience, the cocoa and nut flavors are very balanced, with the vanilla being run over. When the beer warms up closer to room temperature, all the major flavor components are balanced well.

Finish

The finish is of medium length, and completes each time with cocoa nibs that gives way to a bitter dark chocolate.

Overall

The Outcast Last Minute Stout has a tasty Nutella flavor experience. Vanilla, hazelnuts, cocoa nibs, dark chocolate, all with a creamy mouthfeel. This was an enjoyable stout experience that I will revisit in the future.
