Appearance

The Cuvée du Château by Kasteel comes in a short, stubby bottle, with Cuvée Chateau Kasteel on the bottle-cap. This Belgian Quadruple pours thick, with a blackberry color.

Aroma

Nosing the beer reveals a sweet fruity medley of raspberry, strawberry and pear.

Flavor

The Cuvée du Château by Kasteel delivers big boozy notes with a syrupy sweetness underneath that combines with rich, stewed fruit. There is an effervescent mouthfeel through the entire beer experience.

Balance

The balance is very good. Once the beer warms up, the syrupy fruit and boozy notes balance find a strength equilibrium.

Finish

With each sip, the syrupy fruit falls off, giving way to a long boozy finish.

Overall

The Cuvée du Château by Kasteel is an enjoyable Quadruple, that doesn’t mask it’s large ABV nature. I enjoyed the more complex flavors that developed as the beer warmed up, but overall I would have liked more depth and complexity.
