Appearance

The Black Bridge Brewing Milk Stout pours with a medium viscosity and a nice milk chocolate colored head.

Aroma

I’m able to pick up a sweet milk lactose but much less in intensity than I was expecting. As the beer warms up, I pick up some light vanilla notes.

Flavor

My first few sips produce flavors of creamy lactose up front and then lightly toasted malts with some sweet coffee. As the Milk Stout warms up, the profile takes on a latte coffee profile. I’m also tasting some mild chocolate and malt combination.

Balance

The Milk Stout is very well balanced. The coffee flavors don’t run over the sweet milk or vanilla and harmonize nicely into a latte like experience.

Finish

The beer finishes sweet and the sweetness gives way to cold brewed coffee.
