Appearance
The 2 Crows All In has ovals and circles on the can with a blue background and blue lettering. When I pour the beer, it has the appearance of a cider, or apple juice, with a head that diminishes rapidly and mild effervescence present in the glass. The art style on the can didn’t really grab my attention and I found the overall presentation to be fairly average.
Aroma
There’s a pleasant wild saison funk with some stone fruit underneath. The aroma is interesting, but doesn’t grab my focus.
Flavor
The flavor comes across as a well balanced sour with just enough sweetness. There is a delayed light, toasted grain note. I’m enjoying a great effervescent mouthfeel that doesn’t drown out the flavor profile.
Balance
The sour flavor character, grain finish and sweetness are all well balanced against each other. Too often sweetness or sour can dominate the flavor profile, but not with the All In.
Finish
That toasted grain in the flavor profile also finishes each sip with a medium length of time. It’s not overwhelming to the palate and leaves me wanting to go back to the beer.
Overall
I found the 2 Crows All In to be an enjoyable and sessionable Saison that wasn’t too intense on any of the flavor components. I would categorize this as a training wheels Saison for people who struggle to get into the funky side of beer styles.
