TAMARAC, FL, February 24, 2022 – Gurkha Cigar Group International announced a brand new packaging design to an old favorite: The Royal Challenge. Reaching brick and mortar shelves near you will be a new design on the staple brand from Gurkha Cigars. The products began shipping this week and should be in stores soon.
Don’t worry, the blend of the Royal Challenge has not changed a bit. While the new box displays a simple and ornate rose gold foil over a black finish, consumers will find the same great cigar upon opening the lid. The 91 Rated Gurkha favorite is still a rich mild-medium body, full flavor cigar. The Royal Challenge features an aged silky Connecticut/Ecuadorian shade wrapper, a Habano/Honduran binder, and Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. The Gurkha Royal Challenge is a delicious, complex smoke with notes of creamy vanilla, cedar, almonds and spices.
“We decided to redesign the packaging of the Royal Challenge after years of backorder issues since the intricate packaging could not keep up with our great demand,” comments Juan Lopez, VP of Sales. The company hopes that the new boxes will solve previous construction problems by doing away with the iconic dome shaped top. Additionally, Gurkha strives to create more uniformity to the line and packaging making shipping, stocking, and shelf displaying easier for the retailers. “We listened to our retailers and decided to make the boxes more conducive to their needs and easier to stock and display,” commented Jim Colucci, President of Gurkha Cigars. “We hope that by doing away with the dome lid, we will drastically reduce the amount of damaged boxes that arrive to our retailers.”
