Team Cigar Review: Punch Rare Corojo 25th Anniversary

The Punch Rare Corojo 25th Anniversary is a cigar that showcases an unusually sophisticated wood profile and excellent balance early on. Unfortunately, the profile gradually loses complexity and finishes with increasing dryness and bitterness. While the strong opening and excellent construction make for an enjoyable experience overall, the cigar ultimately settles into average territory due to its lack of progression through the latter stages.

Personal Cigar Review: Punch Bottle Rocket

The Punch Bottle Rocket had an average flavor profile through the first two thirds, as the main components of toasted cedar, earth and black pepper all had a bit of staleness to them. The profile took a step down in the final third as some vegetal bitterness masked some of the supporting notes. Overall, not an exciting cigar, as the staleness but a damper on the overall profile. It's a price friendly cigar that makes it an easy try, but it's not something I'd come back to.

Team Cigar Review: Punch Golden Era Lancero

The Punch Golden Era Lancero had a nice start with a full and vibrant delivery of flavors. It dropped a level in the second third as the pepper and earth switched places and remained at that level the rest of the way. This vitola had a bit of a better showing than the Robusto, but past the first third was pretty much inline with it. Not a cigar I'd see myself coming back to as JRE wasn't able to create the same magic with this Lancero version that they've been able to do with their other offerings.

Personal Cigar Review: Punch Dad’s Home Movies

The Punch Dad's Home Movies had an average flavor profile throughout, focused around the heavily toasted cedar, earth and black pepper. Not a very exciting cigar and not something I'd see myself coming back to. The price point is very attractive though, so it's worth it to try one just to see what you think.

Team Cigar Review: Punch Dragon Fire

The start of the Punch Dragon Fire offered up some interesting flavor combinations, but for the remainder of the review, the profile was linear and lacked the dynamic character of the first third. Overall, there wasn't much here to elevate the Punch Dragon Fire from the crowd, although it was overall a pleasant cigar to review and the price point is quite attractive.

Personal Cigar Review: Punch Spring Roll

The Punch Spring Roll had an average flavor profile throughout, but it felt like there was a good flavor profile hiding in there, the staleness just kind of held it back. I've experienced this with other cigars from STG and I'm not sure if it's older tobacco or what causes this. The price point is low, so it's an easy try, but it's just not something I really see myself coming back to.

This Punch Golden Era Robusto is by far one of the best non-Cuban Punch I have ever had. The interplay of creamed cherries, effervescence and Hawaiian sweet bread was enjoyable every single puff. And for an MSRP of $9.99 per cigar, this is no doubt a box buy.

The Punch Brotherhood The People's Champ Brobusto had an average and basic flavor profile throughout. Nothing that really grabbed my attention. If you're a budget smoker, this may be something to look at, but if you don't mind spending more, I'd pass on this one as it's not a cigar I'd see myself coming back to.

Not a cigar I would see myself coming back to, but a cigar that is definitely approachable for newer smokers.
