J.C. Newman Cigar Company is announcing that it is restoring the historic Sanchez y Haya hotel across the street from its El Reloj cigar factory. J.C. Newman plans to open a new hotel, restaurant, and cigar lounge in the building in late 2023.
A baller look and an overall tasty profile. I'm typically not all that excited for such a long smoking experience, as it tends to be monotonous. But, the J.C. Newman The American President showed composure throughout the vast majority of the smoking experience. Bold statement, but I think this may be worth the $20.
It's been so long since I've had this cigar that I have no recollection of the taste. I just remember it being expensive. I apparently have been missing out this entire time as the Diamond Crown Pyramid No. 7 is what I enjoy out of a good Connecticut shade. Easy going with plenty of sweetness, creaminess and just the right amount of spice. I won't wait this long to enjoy another one.
This was a fun little cigar and it delivered a solid flavor profile. Nothing impressive out of the Perla Del Mar Corojo Corona Gorda, but with the price it is a great little purchase. I really enjoyed the spice and stone fruit notes. I'm trying to remember the last time I had an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper too.
The new cigar Havana Q is a cousin of the J.C. Newman value cigar, Quorum, the number 1 selling bundle cigar out of Nicaragua. These are another value brand cigar, but with important differences. Havana Q comes in a variety of larger ring-gauges, to cater to the modern cigar smoker's contemporary preferences.
The J.C. Newman Yagua had an interesting flavor profile, and might be one of the better Broadleaf wrapped cigars in 2020. Although the burn performance was absolutely abysmal, I will be returning to at least one more Yagua to see how it compares to the review experience.
Today, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. began shipping its new Perla del Mar cigars to brick and mortar retailers across the United States. Handmade at J.C. Newman PENSA in Nicaragua, the new Perla del Mar is a significant refinement of the Perla del Mar cigars that J.C. Newman launched in 2012.
The Perla del Mar Natural Perla G is a reliably good Ecuadorian Shade offering. After smoking two of these, I'm happy to say that I'd enjoy smoking these on a regular basis, especially when you factor in the price point. The flavor profile managed to balance complexity, while keeping the overall strength in the range of a typical Shade experience.
J.C. Newman Cigar Co. introduces Yagua, a classic cigar from the tobacco fields of Cuba that the Newman family has recreated in Nicaragua. The Yagua story is one of Cuba from the 1940s. The cigar was inspired by J.C. Newman PENSA's General Manager, Lazaro Lopez.
When I see a near $3 mixed short filler cigar, my main question is if it's worth the money based on taste and technical performance. The answer is a resounding yes. The Quorum Maduro Toro is one of the better cheap cigars I've had. Price aside, if I now ask whether the cigar was an overall good cigar, the answer is not quite. But given the performance based on price, for sure a recommend.
