After a successful expansion to the Ferio Tego Timeless Prestige blend this summer with the Especiales, Ferio Tego is expanding the available experiences in the blend with two additional vitolas, the Divinos and the No. 4.
Following the success of Ferio Tego’s annual limited releases, Elegancia and Generoso, the company is pleased to announce their first core line under the flagship brand, Ferio Tego Summa.
Ferio Tego is expanding the Timeless Prestige blend with the addition of a lancero format. The Ferio Tego Especiales measures 6 ¼” in length with a 38 ring gauge and is finished with a classic pig tail cap. The blend features a Honduran-grown wrapper, over a Dominican binder and fillers from Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
The Ferio Tego Timeless TAA 2023 is a Nicaraguan puro that was developed with the Plasencia family and produced in their Esteli, Nicaragua factory. It is available in one format, a 6” x 50 toro, in limited edition mazos of ten cigars.
I really enjoyed the Ferio Tego Timeless Ten Years, and I thought the cigar was balanced while producing lovely flavors. Burn was not great, but that was not an issue. Yes, it would help with the score, but that does not deter me from smoking more. Price might, but not the burn. Again, good transitioning and complexity throughout. Nice depth. Good blend for the company.
I know this blend is like the TAA release from 2020, and I thought highly of that release, so it is not a surprise this Ferio Tego Timeless TAA 2022 did well for me. I enjoyed the flavors of cocoa, leather, wood and sweet spices throughout. Burn was not great, which was surprising, but I could have just had that cigar. Nice strength and body. If this becomes an annual TAA blend, I will buy it every year.
Ferio Tego will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its award-winning Timeless Collection, first launched in 2012, with a commemorative limited edition release, the Timeless Ten Years. It is offered in one format, a Robusto Grande measuring 5.75” x 54 in boxes of ten cigars.
I was disappointed with the Ferio Tego Generoso. The cigar showed some transitioning throughout each third, but overall, there was a lack of complexity and depth. I thought the cigar had a finish that was slightly off, and it had me trying to identify a flavor that I did not like. Looking at the blend, it came off as something new and different, but it failed to deliver something enjoyable.
Elegancia is a fitting name to this cigar. Plenty of soft notes that allows for full retrohales without any backlash, and mild strength. The only negatives to the Ferio Tego Elegancia are the wood bitterness that seeped into the profile a bit too much within the final third as well as a demanding $21 price tag.
