I was impressed with the Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Mi Querida Triqui Traca No. 552. Overall, an enjoyable experience with a near flawless burn and draw. I'm looking forward to lighting up another Triqui Traca at my earliest convenience.
The Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Sobremesa Brûlée Toro has fantastic burn and construction, but overall, I found the flavor profile to be average. Unfortunately, this particular space is pretty well established and I didn't find that the Brûlée did enough to make it stand out from the crowd.
For fans of Saka's style Connecticut broadleaf, the Red Meat Lovers will certainly not disappoint and many will be happy to find familiarity. This isn't Saka's most complex cigar, but I find it to be what Connecticut Broadleaf wrapped cigars should taste like giving milk chocolate, dry red pepper spice, pencil lead minerality and creamed sweetness.
I enjoyed the Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Sin Compromiso Selección No. 5 Parejo. I was not blown away by it, or think it was spectacular, but I enjoyed it. While it did show transitioning from start to finish, it was not the transitioning I was hoping for in the cigar. If it delivered what it had in the first third, much different story on the cigar.
The flavor profile was darker and to my liking, and this vitola offering is a great addition to the line. I think the consumers who are fans of Todos Las Dias will really enjoy the Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Todos Las Dias Mas Fuerte Thick Lonsdale, and I would say it is my favorite size as well.
The Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Mi Querida Firecracker was a short experience in time and good on flavor. If you're looking for some strength and darker flavors in a short smoking time, this is a great option and I could see smoking many more of these in the future.
The first third of this cigar was dynamite with the combination of wood, chocolate, cinnamon and cream. Each third thereafter became a little less complex as some of the flavor notes began to drop out. If you haven't tried this line yet, this is a great size to go for as it will show you what the line can provide at a good price point.
I finally found the size of a Todos Las Dias I truly enjoy. Within the other formats, the profile was too heavy handed in spice, earth and strength. But the double wide belicoso fit a great balance between sweetness, spice, earth all delivered in a medium plus body.
My overall impression of the Muestra de Saka Nacatamale is that it is a familiar Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust flavor profile centered around deep spice and earthiness with nothing short of amazing construction.
No doubt the strongest Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust cigar to date. But this isn't strength just for strength's sake. It's far from that. It is a spicy, earthy and cocoa forward delivery matching well with the intense strength. Definitely pick some up if you want to know how flavor and strength should taste and feel.
