Personal Cigar Review: RoMa Craft Intemperance Whiskey Rebellion 1794 Pennsatucky

The RoMa Craft Intemperance Whiskey Rebellion 1794 Pennsatucky had an average start with a lot of transitioning. The second third took a step up as the profile found a nice balance, but then dropped a level in the final third as the toast and earth increased and some wood bitterness joined in. A bit of a step up for this vitola over the Tarred & Feathered vitola I reviewed previously. Even though it was a bit improved over the other vitola, I'm still not sure it's a cigar I'd really come back to.

The RoMa Craft Intemperance Volstead VO 1920 Judas Hole delivered an engaging and consistent profile of creamy bread, pastry sweetness and evolving spice expressions. The transitions from cayenne to baking spice and red-hot candy added enjoyable complexity without ever becoming overwhelming. The Volstead is already in my regular smoking rotation, now it's just a matter of narrowing down what my favorite vitola is.

Team Cigar Review: RoMa Craft Maestranza Caballería Valencia

The RoMa Craft Maestranza Caballería Valencia provided interesting and engaging flavor combinations through the first and second thirds. The last third was still pleasant but not as complex as the rest of the cigar. I found the Maestranza Caballería Valencia to be another consistent and reliable release from RoMa Craft. The price point remains quite a bit under the average price point in 2024, so it's an offering I will actively seek out.

Team Cigar Review: RoMa Craft CroMagnon Clovis

The RoMa Craft CroMagnon Clovis is a solid example of a cigar that's blended to incorporate the barber pole wrapper into the profile, rather than something that's just a gimmick. I found the first third to be the most engaging in terms of flavor combinations, and the rest of the cigar was still pleasant to smoke. I enjoyed the flavor profile, and as I'm a fan of RoMa Craft in general, this is a cigar that I would likely pick up at a B&M if I saw it on the shelf.

Team Cigar Review: RoMa Craft CroMagnon PA Anthropology

Yes, I prefer the CroMagnon PA to the original CroMagnon. You shouldn’t be surprised. I believe the blend to be more balanced and refined. The RoMa Craft CroMagnon PA Anthropology is balanced and smokes consistently from beginning to end. Yes, it is full, but it is blended well so you are picking up flavors. For those PA Broadleaf fans, this is a must.

Team Cigar Review: RoMa Craft Quinquagenario

The RoMa Craft Quinquagenario does a good job of showcasing flavor profiles that you would recognize as RoMa Craft, while blending something unique and engaging that isn't currently in the portfolio. The first and second thirds were the most engaging for me, with the second third rising to the top as my overall favorite. I will happily smoke more Quinquagenarios at the earliest opportunity.

Team Cigar Review: RoMa Craft Intemperance Volstead VO 1920 Noble Experiment

I was caught off guard by the flavor profile with this RoMa Craft Intemperance Volstead VO 1920 Noble Experiment, and I will be honest in saying that I did not think Skip had a blend of this nature in him. I'm a dick, but I will admit I was wrong. This was a balanced cigar, and a solid medium in strength and body. I loved the diversity of the tobacco in the blend, and it all came together to produce a uniform profile.

Team Cigar Review: RoMa Craft Baka Hunter Gatherer

The review of the RoMa Craft Baka Hunter Gatherer was consistent with the sample I smoked years ago before the trade show. The flavors are nuanced, layered and balanced, and deliver engagement through the entire review. I'd happily continue to smoke these on the regular, especially given that the price point is reasonable for a cigar with a Cameroon wrapper.

The RoMa Craft Intemperance Whiskey Rebellion 1794 Tarred & Feathered was a good cigar experience, with the first and second thirds providing the best flavor experiences for me. It was interesting to taste the filler and binder first, and then get a big flavor injection of chocolate and musty wood once the wrapper added its influence.

The RoMa Craft Craft 2020 was the first in the Craft series I've had the opportunity to smoke, but based on the experience it will not be the last. The flavors were complex, balanced and kept my attention constantly through the entire smoking experience. Quality releases such as these are why RoMa Craft has such a strong following.
