The Matilde Limited Exposure No. 3 Toro has a good flavor profile throughout the cigar with a nice strength and body level. There is a nice bit of complexity and depth, and while the blend may not speak to all, it’s a good cigar. I would love to see it in other vitolas.
The Matilde Para José Seijas is a lovely cigar and one that I would come back to in the future. The flavor profile was wonderful throughout and the construction and draw were perfect. I love that the blend is limited annually and also limited to one vitola. I believe it is a cigar that will age very well, and it was a balanced stick from beginning to end. It is approachable to many smokers, and when you take your time smoking the cigar you really pick up on all the flavors. Looking forward to future releases.
This Matilde Special Edition 2024 was a great Ecuadorian Sumatra release and terrific release from Matilde. While the burn was never perfect, and the draw a little snug, I loved the flavor profile delivered with the strength and body. It was a complex blend and a filling cigar. The flavors played off each other nicely, and it was enjoyable to the end. I have always loved the brand, and they have had some highs and lows over the years, but they always seem to bounce back. I am excited for their next offering.
The Matilde Serena Maduro Robusto delivered balanced, restrained and engaging flavor combinations through the entire review. The draw and burn were both flawless. Given the flavor profile of this cigar, and then you factor in the price, this might be my value priced cigar of the year by a wide margin. I would happily smoke these again.
The Matilde I know makes some of the best fullest flavor and balanced cigars that I've had. So when a new release comes out, I hope they don't deviate from what they do best. In the case of the Matilde Limited Exposure No. 2, they did it again. The flavors of sweet bread, followed by cedar, accented cardboard and wood tannins were tuned just right. Well done.
I overall enjoyed this Matilde Limited Exposure No. 1. It follows the same vein of what Matilde executes so well on, being flavor centric, while not including needless strength. Many times, I find Mexican San Andres to be too earthy. Once in a while (such as this time), I find the earthiness to be well complimented by other notes (such as chocolate, fruit tones).
This is a fantastic cigar. Really nice cinnamon and toasty oak notes throughout. Great performance only adds to the appeal. These could definitely fit with some people as an ideal daily smoke.
I find the junior release of the Matilde Quadrata to be their strongest cigar thus far. But true to Matilde's form, it does not compromise full flavors. I enjoyed the interplay of the heated spice paired with sweetness, breadiness and minerality.
The blend is designed to be full flavor and medium to full in strength – stronger than Matilde Renacer but milder than Matilde Oscura.
