First announced at IPCPR 2018, Case Study CS/13 is now shipping, and will soon be available via select online retailers and premium tobacconists nationwide. This full-bodied cigar is a special blend from Drew Estate, made at their factory in Nicaragua. Only 200 boxes of this ultra-exclusive cigar were made, making it a true collector’s cigar.
Overall, the flavor profile of the Ventura Case Study 01 Robusto was fairly average with nothing that really kept my attention. Not my favorite in the Case Study line, but it may be something that others find attractive.
The Ventura Case Study 04 is a tasty example of a complex Connecticut Shade cigar. Although the last third is not at the same level of complexity, the overall cigar experience is good. The Case Study CS/04 is medium strength and medium to medium-full in flavor.
The Ventura Case Study 03 Toro is the second entry in the Case Study series I've had an opportunity to review. Like the previous Case Study, the cigar started out really well, with significant amounts of complexity that held my attention. Unfortunately, the complexity fell off in the middle third, and never managed to recapture the flavors I enjoyed so much.
The more I smoke the Case Studies, the more I believe Ventura's marketing statement of selecting good cigars from various factories. The Ventura Case Study 05 was just plain and simply a good cigar showcasing sweetness, chocolate, earth and tapered spice. I would happily smoke more of these.
I enjoyed the rich and robust flavors of the cigar that had the power and strength to match. Given this as our first Case Study (and successful one at that), I am now very interested to see what other cigars Ventura has dug up at other aging rooms.
