Team Cigar Review: Asylum Split Personality 40×4

The Asylum Split Personality 40x4 opened with some intrigue given the unique vanilla and banana aromatics, but the smoking experience struggled with balance and consistency. While the draw and burn performed admirably, the profile leaned heavily toward cloying vanilla and hay bitterness, with little evolution. A novel concept, but the overall delivery was underwhelming. I appreciated there wasn't a sweet cap, but the overall profile isn't something I'd reach for.

Team Cigar Review: Black Works Studio Intergalactic Event Horizon Petite Corona

The Black Works Studio Intergalactic Event Horizon Petite Corona is a fantastic cigar. To begin with, the vitola is fantastic. It’s not too small or big. Most importantly, the cigar delivered great flavors. There was depth, complexity and transitioning throughout. From beginning to end, the cigar performed incredibly well. This is what PA Broadleaf is about and used to be about. Black Label has shown so much growth as a company. It’s great to see!

Team Cigar Review: Gellis Marevas

The Gellis Marevas is a departure from where the Warped brand of cigars was being manufactured and also the flavor profile that it typically delivered. I did find the first third brought some interesting and engaging components, but by the second third there was a dominant earth note that was driving the profile and the cigar didn't seem to recover from it. I didn't find the profile of the Gellis Marevas particularly engaging or standout that I'd want to return to it, however I am interested in reviewing future Gellis offerings to see how the brand evolves.

Team Cigar Review: Drew Estate Liga Privada H99 Connecticut Corojo Papas Fritas

This Drew Estate Liga Privada H99 Connecticut Corojo Papas Fritas is a fun smoke that delivers a ton for what it is and how cheap it is. I loved the profile though, I can see some not caring for it, and I think the vitola is great. It is small enough to deliver the flavors of this blend and not have it become too much or monotonous. I have smoked a handful of these, and they are all great.

Team Cigar Review: Esteban Carreras Taken From the Devil’s Hand Boolit

The Esteban Carreras Taken From the Devil's Hand Boolit was a bit of a miss for me for a number of different reasons. The profile was fairly average, and none of the flavors came together in a way that kept me engaged. The positive is that the cigar is at a reasonable price point, however based on my experience here, I'd be unlikely to pick up another Devil's Hand Boolit.

The Esteban Carreras Cashmere Boolit is a solid Connecticut and the pricing makes it very appealing. It is not a Connecticut I would definitely gravitate to if I had options, but I would be happy with selecting this if my options were limited.

Team Cigar Review: Tatuaje Black Label Petite Corona BC

After smoking the Tatuaje Black Label Petite Corona BC, this cigar joins the ranks of Rothchild Maduro. Wonderfully Nicaraguan Criollo with great nasal clearing red/cayenne pepper spice, barnyard stank and meatiness. I can see myself smoking multiples of these in one sitting. Well worth the price point and tasting experience.

The Drew Estate Undercrown Shade Corona Pequeña definitely fits the bill for a quick 30-40 minute cigar that gets the job done. The flavors between spice and sweet citrus were in good balance and lasted just long enough for me to either be satisfied or entertain lighting up another one.

Team Cigar Review: Drew Estate Undercrown Maduro Corona Pequeña

Smoking the Drew Estate Undercrown Maduro Corona Pequeña has resurrected my interest in the brand, and I will definitely be smoking some of the original vitolas the next time I go to the shop. This is a terrific small cigar and great for when you don't have much smoking time. There is a lot of flavor in the cigar and the second third is magnificent.

Team Cigar Review: Saga Short Tales Tomo III L.I.V.

This is my first experience with the Short Tales line but has me eager to try the other iterations. In a small format like this, it's hard to ask for more in what it delivers. I would gladly smoke more of these and it is something I wouldn't hesitate to recommend that you try to track down some to smoke so you can see what you think.
