The Tatuaje Escasos H had an average flavor profile throughout, focused around toasted cedar and dry earth. While the flavor profile was smooth with lower strength, the dry earth kind of dampened the other flavors, which I believe didn't allow it to shine as it could have. Not a cigar that really excites me and not something I'd likely to return to.
The Tatuaje Sextooth Holiday is a nice little smoke. It delivers a flavor profile that is fairly complex, and while there is not much transitioning throughout the cigar, the core profile is complex enough to carry the cigar. It's nice in appearance, and has a great burn and draw. The earth, tobacco and manure notes are really enjoyable.
This Tatuaje PCA 2025 started off good, but it took a dive deeper and deeper into the dumpster the more I smoked it. Initial offerings of toasted mixed nuts, baking spices and minerals were nothing short of a good cigar, but as the cigar progressed, the flavor complexities weakened and by the end the harsh caking on my palate ultimately confirmed this is not something I'd turn back to.
The Tatuaje Series P Honduras Short Toro was a good cigar. It was a blend I would come back to in the future, and it is a cigar I would smoke regularly. It had a wonderful core flavor profile that was complex from start to finish. The strength and body worked well with the flavors, and it delivered an easy smoking experience that was very enjoyable. I could smoke all the time while at the beach, and light one up in the morning or evening.
The Tatuaje Pork Tenderloin 2025 is a fantastic release. The construction was perfect from start to finish. Draw and burn top notch. It was a balanced cigar, and it had a great level of complexity and transitioning throughout. The flavor profile delivered strength and richness and was a great example of Connecticut Broadleaf over Nicaraguan tobacco. This is a cigar that smokes great now but will age wonderfully. I should have bought a bundle when this cigar was released. Fantastic blend.
I found the Tatuaje PJ 50th Toro Especial to be a good representation of Tatuaje but a deviation of the typical brand. The flavors showed both richness, depth and cohesiveness without being aggressive (sort of like the wisdom and knowledge you get being older). While I hate the ridiculous price point, I need to give props to the tasty smoking experience. Someone please buy me more.
I am a fan of the Cazadores vitola, and have always enjoyed the Brown Label offering, but the La Riqueza SE 2024 did not impress. I felt the flavors lacking and one dimensional. The Broadleaf was not dominant enough, and you need a quality wrapper with a vitola of this nature. The popcorn flavors were some of the most dominant popcorn flavors I have experienced on a cigar, but there needed to be more. Draw and burn aside, this is not a cigar I would come back to and try.
Looking at the five Cojonú 2012 offerings, I would place this Tatuaje Cojonú 2012 Corojo in third behind the current Habano and Reserva offering. If you went back to 2012, I would have this behind the Capa Especial offering as well. It’s softer than the Habano and Reserva offerings while also capturing those Corojo qualities of dry earth, spices, seasoned wood and leather notes. I was hoping for a little more transitioning with the cigar, and complexities, but it was a solid smoke overall.
The Tatuaje Broadleaf Reserva Limited Lonsdale Edition was pleasant to smoke overall, but was linear in the flavor delivery and never established any complex flavor combinations that grabbed my attention. While the price point on these is quite reasonable for the 2024 market, Tatuaje has a very long list of excellent limited and regular production cigars to choose from. I would reach for something else from their vast portfolio over this.
This Tatuaje La Union Black Prominente Especial is probably the most complex and nuanced cigar I've had coming out of My Father. The ability for a large format (and a long smoking experience) to capture my attention for the bulk of the time is impressive and rarely achieved. I would of course love to smoke more of these but I won't because honestly, no cigar is worth the price tag of $60.
