The Saga Solaz Corona started well, with a nice combination of flavors, but as the black pepper gained a tinny note in the second third, the flavor profile dropped down a level and maintained that the rest of the way. I wouldn't see myself coming back to this all that often, but it's a pretty effortless smoke with a serviceable flavor profile and I could see people gravitating towards it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the review of the Saga Golden Age Yamasá Limited Edition 2023. The first and second thirds were subdued, subtle, rich and engaging in the flavor combinations. The final third had a more intense earth to it that threw the balance off, and while pleasant, it didn't harmonize for me in the same way the rest of the cigar had. I would happily smoke another Saga Golden Age Yamasá Limited Edition 2023 again.
The Saga Short Tales Tomo VII Tales of the Land: Navarrete started out with some interesting flavor combinations, and lost much of the complexity by the second third. I did find the second and last thirds to be pleasant, albeit not overly complex. Given the price point to flavor delivery here, I'd be hesitant to return to this cigar as it didn't offer quite enough to keep me interested.
The Saga Solaz Robusto was an interesting cigar that served up a more classic Connecticut flavor profile with more subtle and complex notes in the first third. The second and last third became more traditional with grass and bitterness that I find most often with Connecticut blends of years ago.
I don't really see Saga getting too much buzz on social media, but cigars like this Saga Short Tales Tomo VI: The Sixth Element: El Tabaco are ones that I could see having a wide appeal. Medium strength with good flavors is a good combination for many levels of smokers. I'd have no problem smoking more of these and would suggest people give them a try to see if it interests them in the line or the brand itself.
The fact that the flavor profile of the Saga Short Tales Tomo V L.A.V. was pretty enjoyable through the first two thirds while the construction was quite poor is a testament to this blend. I would love to revisit a better constructed version to see if this cigar can really shine.
I find it great that a little 4 x 44 petite cigar, like this Saga Short Tales Tomo IV L.O.V., can have so many flavors. It's a shame there aren't many petite cigars in the market place, let alone ones that have this much flavor. Take it slow with this cigar and you'll be rewarded with a great, short and flavored experience.
This is my first experience with the Short Tales line but has me eager to try the other iterations. In a small format like this, it's hard to ask for more in what it delivers. I would gladly smoke more of these and it is something I wouldn't hesitate to recommend that you try to track down some to smoke so you can see what you think.
