The infamous Hamlet Salomon paired with a 25th year secondary band has a lot of clout. Therefore, coming into the Hamlet 25th Year Salomon, my expectations were high. Overall, the flavor profile was good with black pepper, cedar, rich nuttiness and cedar. But, with such a long smoking commitment, I expected more transitions and complex build-ups in which the cigar fell short.
Rocky Patel Premium Cigars is expanding the popular Hamlet 25th Year line with a Salomon size that will be hitting store shelves late this month. The new vitola, on display at this summer’s IPCPR trade show, was crafted by renowned Cuban cigar blender and master roller, Hamlet Paredes.
The Hamlet Liberation is an enjoyable cigar but it doesn’t take that extra step to reach the next level. I felt this cigar lacked a lot of complexity, transitioning and depth; and that is what I look for in a cigar. It is fair to say that the Hamlet offerings fail to live up to my expectations/hopes.
