Personal Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Maduro Chisel

The La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Maduro Chisel had an average flavor profile throughout, focused around toasted cedar and earth. The creamy black pepper was a nice touch, but it couldn't elevate the overall profile. The snug draw and burn issues put a bit of a damper on the overall experience as it required more attention than I want to give during a smoking session. I might come back to this to see if a better constructed offering would perform better.

Personal Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Cameroon Cabinet Chisel

The La Flor Dominicana Cameroon Cabinet Chisel had an average flavor profile throughout, focused around the toasted oak and earth.The supporting notes were pleasant, but didn't really elevate the profile. This was a smooth and easy smoking cigar, but the flavor profile didn't really do enough to make it stand out. It's an interesting Cameroon offering, but not something I'd see returning to with any real frequency.

Team Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Apollonia TAA 2025

I enjoyed the La Flor Dominicana Apollonia TAA 2025. I loved the flavor profile generated and the complexities with the cigar. It showed depth throughout with not a lot of transitioning required. The burn and draw were great additions to the flavor profile from the cigar, and it's a cigar I would come back to in the future. Interested in other vitolas as well.

Personal Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Double Claro No. 50

The La Flor Dominicana Double Claro No. 50 had a nice start, with hay, in all its iterations, actually enhancing the profile. It took a step down in the second third as the earth increased, and remained that way for the rest of the cigar. While I wouldn't put in the small group of top tier candelas on the market, it is better than most. I'd be open to trying this in another vitola to see how it compares.

Personal Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Natural Chisel

The La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Natural Chisel had a nice start, with a smooth combination of flavors. It took a step down in the second third as the pepper moved around a fair amount and maintained that level the rest of the way. I really enjoy the Chisel head, but the cigar wasn't all that interesting past the first third. I don't see myself really coming back to this cigar.

Team Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Suave Natural Maceo

The La Flor Dominicana Suave Natural Maceo delivered a profile that had complexity in the first third, but never fully broke past its own limitations. The early combination of sweet tobacco, baking spices and toasted wood created a classic start and I was hoping more depth would be revealed. By the end, the Suave Natural Maceo proved itself to be a cigar best appreciated for its simplicity and its early moments of harmony. It may not be a standout in the broader LFD catalog, but there may be value to the consumer in a more subdued blend.

Personal Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Suave Grand Maduro No. 5

The La Flor Dominicana Suave Grand Maduro No. 5 had a average profile throughout that was pretty linear. Focused around earth and toasted oak with some supporting notes of black pepper, cereal, vegetal bitterness and light creaminess. Another Mexican wrapped offering that was fairly earth dominant. I really enjoy this pressed vitola and would love to see it used on more cigars. Overall though, not a cigar that was all that exciting and not something I'd see myself really returning to.

Team Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Litto Gomez 55th Anniversary Emeraude TAA

The La Flor Dominicana Litto Gomez 55th Anniversary Emeraude TAA delivered a heavier profile centered around earth, coffee and tobacco. I found the flavors balanced well in the first third but seemed to fight to retain that balance through the rest of the review experience. This cigar also carries a bit of a premium price point, and based on that and the flavor profile I'd rather seek out some of the regular production LFD offerings.

Team Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Coronado Corona Especial

The La Flor Dominicana Coronado Corona Especial is a very good cigar that delivers a rich tobacco experience with enough complexity to keep you interested. This cigar has enough punch, but it won't overpower you. The Corona Especial size is an excellent size for this blend. In a lot of ways, it's quintessential, classic La Flor Dominicana. It's a cigar and blend that's overlooked, and it's one I plan on revisiting more in the future.

Team Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana TAA 50 Segunda Edición Maduro

Nice flavors in the La Flor Dominicana TAA 50 Segunda Edición Maduro. Good dry cocoa and cedar up front with second tier flavors showing leather, nuts and hay. I'm still a bit surprised how mild it is for an LFD (and I like it). The medium strength and body complimented the flavors well. This one I'll smoke again.
