The H. Upmann Connecticut by Grupo de Maestros Toro carried a fairly traditional Connecticut shade profile with a slightly amped up strength level. While the flavor profile is pretty typical of many other Connecticut shade cigars, the price point for the vitola is attractive.
The Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch II features a new size and blend. This medium-bodied cigar is deeply colored and comes with a rich Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Dominican Olor binder and Nicaraguan filler leaves. Together these tobaccos yield a predominant aroma of wood with hints of leather, dry fruit and coffee.
