The Foundation El Güegüense 5 Year Aniversario overall was a good experience, but I still find myself a bit disappointed. When you consider some of the high performing past Foundation releases, the fact that this is an anniversary cigar, and the price point, I feel that the cigar under performed.
To commemorate Foundation’s 5-year anniversary, Melillo has blended and designed a limited edition 4 ¾ by 60 Perfecto in a one-of-a-kind collector’s chest. The 20-count box, resembling the one held by The Wise Man during the festival’s Great Dance, represents the hard-work, ingenuity, and deep cultural wealth of the Nicaraguan people.
The flavor profile was pretty nice and exhibited some good complexities through the first two thirds. Performance was very good and required no attention. Definitely give this a try as it’s one I’ll be looking forward to smoking more of.
