Aganorsa Leaf is excited to announce the highly acclaimed Aniversario Maduro will return this summer to the PCA. This year’s edition utilizes the same blend of 100% Aganorsa Leaf tobaccos wrapped in our proprietary Shade Grown Corojo Maduro cover leaf as previous years, but will be produced in three new vitolas.
Aganorsa Leaf has streamlined their core line Corojo, Maduro, Habano, and Connecticut brands under the new La Validación Series. Maintaining the same blends as the original releases, the four lines have been repackaged with more prominent Aganorsa Leaf branding, and the box counts and sizes have been standardized.
Overall, the flavor profile of the Aganorsa Leaf Stateline was average and didn't really capture my attention. It was just a core set of flavors that are pretty easy to find in any number of cigars on the market. It was nice getting a chance to try this exclusive, but isn't something I'd try to track down more of, that's if they are even still available.
Aganorsa Leaf is proud to announce the core line Casa Fernandez Aniversario Corojo will be rebranded as Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Corojo. Just as the Maduro version of Aniversario was repackaged this past summer, boxes and bands will also be updated to emphasize the Aganorsa Leaf logo and the Casa Fernandez name will be eliminated.
The cigar was pretty pleasant in the first third, but lost some complexity in the second third. For this Aganorsa Leaf Rare Leaf Reserve Toro, it just didn't provide enough enjoyment through the entire smoking experience to make me want to come back to it with any regularity.
The Aganorsa Leaf Casa Fernandez Aniversario Cuban 109 Maduro was a pleasant cigar experience, with the greatest complexity coming in the first third. Given the price point and the presentation of the cigar, I was expecting at least more complexity through the second third. I would smoke this cigar again, although I might sit on it for a few months in the faint hope that the profile improves through aging.
Utilizing select lots on our best farms that produce low yields of leaf unique in both flavor and aroma, Rare Leaf Reserve is made entirely of Aganorsa tobacco. A café cover leaf from Jalapa envelops a double binder and filler tobaccos of predominantly Criollo 98 with a just touch of Corojo 99.
The Aganorsa Leaf Supreme Leaf Robusto had a really good first third, a good second third and a fairly average last third. Flavors included baking spices, bread, red pepper flake, sweetness, cedar, creaminess and earth. I'll be smoking additional Supreme Leaf cigars because the overall experience was good and the first third was rich and complex.
This year’s edition is a 6.25 x 54 box-pressed 109 head maduro. Using one hundred percent Aganorsa Leaf tobaccos and covered in our proprietary Aganorsa Shade Grown Corojo Maduro wrapper, the entire production was rolled by a single torcedor in Miami without the use of a Lieberman machine. Like previous editions, only 250 boxes of 10 will be produced.
Lunatic Torch will be available in May for Aganorsa Select accounts and then open to all at PCA in three vitolas: Visionaries (6.5 x 52), Dreamlands (6.5 x 60), and Mad Folk (4.75 x 70). All are packaged in boxes of ten cigars.
