The Villiger Do Brasil Maduro Robusto showcases some of the best qualities of Brazilian tobacco. Flavors ranged from sweetness, cedar, creaminess, plum, fig, leather and earth. The strength of the cigar seemed to settle around the medium mark. I would light up another Do Brasil Maduro again, as I enjoyed the smoking experience.
The experience of the Villiger Do Brasil Claro Robusto went like this. First two thirds, wow, I am impressed by what Brazilian Connecticut shade can do. The final third, more average. This is a cigar that is packed with full flavors without much strength. I can see myself enjoying a couple as my starter cigar for the day.
The Villiger San'Doro Maduro Toro isn't at the level of the more recent releases from the brand and I would classify it as a fairly average flavor profile. If you enjoy the flavors it presents, it would be worthwhile to try it and see if it's something you'd like to add to your rotation, but for me, I would gravitate to more recent offerings.
Villiger Cigars continues global growth, with the opening of its new factory in Brazil, Villiger Do Brasil (which translates from Portuguese to “Villiger of Brazil”). Heinrich Villiger was present at the opening of the new factory, marking the next evolution of a long relationship between Villiger Cigars and Brazilian tobacco, dating back to Villiger Cigars’ beginnings in 1888.
The flavors were pretty good, so it's a cigar well worth trying. The strength level makes it approachable for most smokers, it's just a darker profile that people will want to be aware of before getting into it.
