Team Cigar Review: Black Label Trading Co. Bishops Blend 2024 Robusto

The Black Label Trading Co. Bishops Blend 2024 Robusto started out with interesting and complex flavor combinations in the first third. The rest of the cigar was pleasant, but lacked the same number of flavor components and engagement as the first third. While I have enjoyed many of the releases over the years, this one fell a bit short of the mark for me. I think the price point is quite reasonable for the 2024/2025 market and I'll be back to see how the 2025 release stacks up.

I loved the Black Label Trading Company Bishops Blend Novemdiales Toro. It's my favorite Bishops Blend to date, and it shows the growth of James Brown as a blender. His blends are still medium-full to full in strength and body, but there is more complexity and balance in the blends. A balanced, flavorful and full cigar.

Novemdiales is handcrafted at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Esteli, Nicaragua. It represents a revised iteration of the original Bishops Blend, by using a Pennsylvania wrapper with other slight revisions. Those that have grown to love this release will still recognize the distinctive flavors of the past with a fresh, nuanced perspective.

The Black Label Trading Co. Bishops Blend 5 Year Anniversary Corona Gorda has a consistently good flavor profile from start to finish. The 5 Year Anniversary release seemed to be a bit of a departure from previous annual releases. This cigar will appeal to BLTC fans and the reduced strength and body should bring in a wider audience of cigar smokers.
