Pre-light Experience
The wrapper is medium brown and has a few veins that look pretty bulky, but they are smooth or only slightly raised. The seams are smooth but easily visible due to a slightly darker color on the edges of the leaf. The head is flatter than most parejos and has a very well applied triple cap. The band is sliver, white and gray and pretty ornate. The aroma from the wrapper is just a light wood and the foot is fairly similar with the only variation being a slight bit of sweet hay. The pre-light draw brings a light, sweet wood along with a mild white pepper that is present on my lips and the tip of my tongue.
Pre-light Experience
The MLB Cigar Venture Imperia Aventador Robusto has a gorgeous Colorado maduro shade wrapper. The wrapper has a glistening oily sheen like a pair of well cleaned and oiled dress shoes. Construction looks top notch as veins are well pressed, seams tight, bunch and roll even without soft spots and the head finished off with a well applied triple cap. Nosing the wrapper provides cedar and some barnyard. Aromas from the foot tell cedar, sweet raisins and subtle white pepper. Cold draw gives cedar, hay and raisins.
First Third
The cigar begins with some spicy cedar, black pepper and an underlying sweetness. At a quarter inch in, some cream joins the profile to add another dimension while all of the other flavors keep their profile intact. The retrohale carries the spicy cedar and pepper which gives a fair amount of zing. At an inch in, all of the flavors are working together pretty well. The spice from the cedar and the black pepper create quite an interesting combination. As the third comes to a close, some mustiness joins in with the spicy cedar, black pepper and cream. The strength in this third was slightly above medium.
First Third
The first third’s flavor profile reveals coffee beans, toast and cinnamon. Through retrohaling, cinnamon and a nice creaminess pops. The finish is a soft cinnamon on the rear palate and cedar. Strength and body is medium.
Second Third
As the second third begins, the cedar moves more to the front along with the pepper while the creamy and musty notes are a little further in the background. At a half inch in, the black pepper drops to the background while the slightly spicy cedar remains up front. At an inch in, the cream and mustiness increase to even out with the slightly spicy cedar. The retrohale is now carrying the slightly spicy cedar and mustiness. As the third comes to a close, the cream fades back while the slight spicy cedar and mustiness remain up front. The strength remains at slightly above medium.
Second Third
The second third continues the trend off the first third. The profile is unchanged with the same flavors of coffee beans, toast and cinnamon. Retrohaling helps to break up the flavors a bit being fuller in cinnamon spice and cream. The strength is slightly above medium but still overall medium. Body remains medium.
Final Third
As the final third begins, the spicy cedar and mustiness remain even. At a half inch in, the spice drops from the cedar. The retrohale is now a very musty cedar. At an inch in, the mustiness picks up a bit to become the primary note with the cedar slightly behind. This is how the cigar finishes. The strength in this third remained at slightly above medium.
Final Third
The last third dials down the flavor profile a bit such that the breadiness/toast and coffee bean characteristics are gone, replaced by namely cinnamon and dry wood. Luckily through retrohaling, intensified cinnamon and cream is still intact. Strength finishes off near medium-full and body medium.
Burn
The burn was slightly wavy throughout. In the final third, the cigar struggled to remain lit and required two re-lights. The ash held on in one inch increments.
Burn
The burn had some issues but overall was good. Two touch-ups, flowery and flaky ashes were the main issues. Pluses for a cool burning temperature and 1.5 inch ash increments.
Draw
The draw was slightly tighter than I prefer but didn’t cause any issues with the smoking experience.
Overall
The cigar had a very interesting combination of spicy cedar and black pepper through the first half of the cigar. There were some accompanying notes of cream and mustiness which added some nice dimensions to the flavor. Construction was really good until the final third when some burn issues arose and strength was slightly above medium the whole way. Having smoked a couple of these, I’ve found it to be a pretty enjoyable experience and one I would have no problem going back to. The price point is a good match for the experience and for those that like cedar and pepper, it’s one you’ll likely enjoy. I say find some and enjoy them.

Draw
The draw was perfect. No complaints here.
Overall
The Imperia Aventador Robusto was a straight forward smoking experience exemplifying a good core of flavors. Overall tasting notes of cinnamon, toast/bread and coffee beans were good and consistent with the last third losing steam. The overall medium profile allows for a novice to enjoy and easily identify the flavors. A good example of a steady eddy cigar.
