Pre-light Experience

Aaron: The wrapper on the Lampert 1675 Edición Azul Toro is a matte medium brown with a couple of decently raised veins. The seams are a bit raised and the caps well applied. The band is gold, blue and white and denotes the company and line. The aroma from the wrapper is a mix of cedar and hay, while the foot brings cedar and bread. The pre-light draw brings cedar and light bubble gum along with a mid-level spiciness on my lips.
Seth: The Lampert 1675 Edición Azul Toro is a nice looking cigar. Silky in texture, the wrapper has a solid Natural coloring. Faded brown throughout. Small to medium sized veins, the cigar is firm with aromas of spices, leather, wood and tobacco. Band looks nice against the wrapper.
John: The Lampert 1675 Edición Azul Toro comes in cellophane and has a UPC sticker that tears in half when opened. There is a single band with red lettering on yellow background, with green, gold and white coloring. I weighed the cigar at 16.5 grams, and the humidity as measured by the HumidiMeter Pro was 61.7%. Aromas from the wrapper included bread, wood, tobacco and sweet hay. Out of the foot, I could pick out dusty hay and wood.

First Third

Aaron: The cigar begins with toasted cedar, baking spice and light earth. At a third of an inch in, the earth picks up a bit to become even with the baking spice. The retrohale is toasted cedar and lightly zingy baking spice. At an inch and a quarter, the earth has moved up to become even with the toasted cedar. As the third wraps up, the profile is toasted cedar and earth even up front with baking spice a bit behind. The strength was right at medium.
Seth: The first third starts out with a lovely cedar and earth profile that is paired with some sweet spices. Nice bits of leather, nuts and toast. Coffee as well. Balanced cigar. Medium in strength and body.
John: My opening draws brought flavors of dry wood which lead into mild spices through the post draw. A musty tobacco settles into the center, as bread comes into the retrohale mixing with mildly tannic wood and nuttiness. A light chocolate finishes the end of the draw by the bottom half of the first third.

Second Third

Aaron: As the second third begins, the baking spice transitions to black pepper. At a half inch in, the black pepper mellows a bit. The retrohale is now toasted cedar and earth with light black pepper. As the third comes to a close, the toasted cedar and earth remain even up front with the black pepper a fair distance behind. The strength remains at medium.
Seth: The second third is fairly in line with the first. Nice balance between earth, wood, sweet spices, toast, nuts and leather. Medium in strength and body.
John: Creamy, medium strength spices lead into the second third. Nuts combine with vegetal and wood in the center as tannic wood defines the post draw at medium to medium-full intensity. Sweet bread joins the center of the profile moving to the halfway point. Chocolate also joins the center of the profile in the bottom half.

Final Third

Aaron: As the final third begins, the toast level increases a bit and a light wood bitterness becomes present. The retrohale is now toasted cedar and earth with very mild black pepper. At an inch in, the wood bitterness increases a bit. As the cigar wraps up, the toasted cedar and earth are even up front with wood bitterness in the middle and light black pepper in the background. The strength bumped up to slightly above medium.
Seth: The final third was in line with the second third. Leather, tobacco, wood and earth qualities. Sweet spices as well. Nicely balanced. Medium in strength and body.
John: Creamy bread starts the last third with spices, and tannic wood combining into the post draw. A dry, woody finish as the last third settles in. The retrohale consists of vegetal sweetness here. Sweet wood makes up the center of the profile by the halfway point with dry, tannic wood still finishing.

Burn

Aaron: The burn was straight the entire way, and the ash held on in near two inch increments.
Seth: Nice burn throughout. Ash was always falling off.
John: The burn was straight through the first third, uneven through the second third and straight through the last third. No intervention was required.

Draw

Aaron: The draw was perfect, with just the right amount of resistance I prefer.
Seth: Very nice draw throughout.
John: The draw started out quite snug, roughly 3-1/2 to 4 notches into the resistant spectrum. About an inch into the first third, it opened up to 2-1/2 to 3 notches into the resistant spectrum.

Overall

Aaron: The cigar began with toasted cedar, baking spice and light earth. The second third saw the baking spice transition to black pepper. The final third saw some wood bitterness join in. The construction was absolutely perfect. The Lampert 1675 Edición Azul Toro had a fairly basic and average profile throughout. There was some slight transitioning, but nothing that really improved the profile. Not a cigar that I found all that interesting and not something I see myself returning to.
Seth: The Lampert 1675 Edición Azul Toro was an enjoyable cigar. It produced a solid flavor profile from start to finish. The strength and body matched well, and it was a balanced cigar. Not over the top in terms of complexity, but still solid. I would definitely come back to this cigar, despite the rating. One of my constant issues was that the ash was always falling off the cigar. Fun smoke.
John: The Lampert 1675 Edición Azul Toro manages to bring complex flavors with a very restrained flavor profile that at times had me reaching to get the complexity. I enjoyed the cigar, and found the first and second thirds to have the most engaging flavor combinations. The burn was perfect with the draw suffering from some snugness that opened up somewhat as it settled in. The price point is reasonable on these and I will find myself seeking out more in the future. Total smoking time was 2 hours and 15 minutes.
