Pre-light Experience

Seth: The Black Label Trading Co. Deliverance Nocturne Toro is nice in appearance. It has a solid maduro wrapper that is toothy and sports small to medium sized veins throughout. The veins show a lighter coloring than the leaf itself, and it has this coffee bean and milk chocolate coloring. There is a lovely cap on the cigar and there are aromas of wood, leather, rich earth and sweet tobacco. Lovely aromas that are not too powerful.
John: The Black Label Trading Co. Deliverance Nocturne Toro features a darker maduro-colored wrapper. I weighed the cigar at 11.9 grams and measured the humidity with the Humidimeter Pro at 61.8%. Aromas from the wrapper were pleasant and defined, offering fresh cedar and aged tobacco. From the foot, I was picking up very mild aromas of hay and wood.
Jiunn: The Black Label Trading Co. Deliverance Nocturne Toro has an oily sheened Colorado wrapper shade. Veins are well pressed, seams tight, bunch and roll even and the head is well wrapped and capped. Pre-light aromas tell of black tea, jasmine and black pepper spice.

First Third

Seth: The first third begins with strong coffee bean notes, leather and seasoned wood. Tobacco and rich earth flavors are present with some faint mineral and toasted nut qualities on the finish. Lovely profile. Medium to medium-full in strength and body.
John: The first third opens with toasted cedar and earth combining at the front of the profile. Mild toasted earth and light spices form the finish. The retrohale is defined by malty tobacco and toasted earth. As the cigar progresses toward the halfway point of the first third, the retrohale becomes more balanced. Sweet tobacco begins to lead, followed by malty accents with toasted earth in the center, finishing with a woody note.
Jiunn: Off the get go, deep mixture of red pepper spice and sugared creamed coffee. The retrohale is even deeper in the pepper spice but is well balanced by the creamy coffee. The finish shows mid tannins with layered cedar. Strength and body is medium.

Second Third

Seth: The second third shows more coffee bean notes with leather, wood and tobacco. Earth, minerals and toasted nuts on the finish. Filling profile while not overly spicy. Rich, but balanced. Medium to medium-full in strength and body.
John: The second third begins with creamy wood and tobacco leading off, with earth forming the finish. A delayed dry wood note moves into the post draw palate shortly thereafter. As the second third settles in, sweet tobacco returns to the front of the profile. Earth gradually begins to take over the post draw as the second third continues. In the bottom half, malty tobacco and earth combine to lead the profile.
Jiunn: The second third is less sweet and creamy but shows more spice and wood driven characters (dried red pepper spice, minerals, baking spices, cedar). There’s also a nice game/meat component as well. The tannins tighten up, giving the cigar more structure. Strength increases to medium-full, while body remains medium.

Final Third

Seth: The final third was like that of the first. Softer than the second third. Seasoned wood , coffee and leather notes. Tobacco and rich earth notes present with the finish of minerals and nuts. Medium in strength and body.
John: The final third starts with creamy tobacco and earth leading, while wood defines the center of the profile. A delayed dry and tannic wood note develops in the post draw. As the cigar reaches the halfway point of the last third, the profile remains largely unchanged, with post draw earth increasing to medium strength.
Jiunn: There’s a reduction of flavors within the final third. It’s now highly earthy with dried red pepper spice, minerals, baking spices and cedar without the tannin structure or any sweetness remaining. Strength and body finishes the same medium-full and medium, respectively.

Burn

Seth: The burn was average from start to finish.
John: The burn started straight but spontaneously went out at roughly the one-inch mark, requiring a re-light. The burn was straight through the second third, becoming uneven and forming a slight canoe at the halfway point. It corrected itself naturally and remained straight for the remainder of the review.
Jiunn: Great burn performance, providing an even burn, tight ashes, cool burning temperatures and ample smoke production.

Draw

Seth: The draw was good throughout the cigar.
John: I measured the draw at 30 inches of water with the Cigar Medics draw machine. Subjectively, I found the draw to be approximately one notch open, placing it squarely in the ideal range for an amazing draw.
Jiunn: Slightly tight, which falls just short of perfection.

Overall

Seth: The Black Label Trading Co. Deliverance Nocturne Toro was a good cigar. The wrapper really had a large impact on the cigar, but the filler was blended well with the wrapper. There were qualities in the cigar that were familiar and made them to my liking. A balanced blend with a lovely flavor profile. Not over the top, but balanced. Burn and draw were decent. This is a cigar I would come back to in the future, and a blend I am excited to learn more about when discussing.
John: The Black Label Trading Co. Deliverance Nocturne Toro delivers a profile that is welcoming and easy on the palate, but ultimately restrained. Cedar, earth and malty tobacco form the foundation from the very beginning, with the cigar showing good balance early on rather than dramatic shifts. The retrohale, especially in the first third, provides some of the more engaging moments, where sweet tobacco briefly leads and softens the otherwise earthy, wood-driven profile. Through the middle portion, the cigar leans more heavily into earth, with sweetness fading in and out rather than asserting itself. The malty tobacco note continues to act as a bridge between transitions, keeping the cigar from becoming harsh or disjointed, but it never fully evolves into something deeper or more expressive. By the final third, the profile tightens further, with dry and tannic wood pairing with increasingly assertive earth on the post draw. While the flavors remain clean and controlled, they also become more predictable, reinforcing the cigars limited range. Construction is mixed, with an excellent draw offset by a burn that required early intervention, though it did stabilize nicely afterward. In the end, this Black Label Trading Co. Deliverance Nocturne Toro is a cigar that performs competently and maintains balance throughout its smoking time, but it doesn’t offer the complexity, progression or standout moments needed to push it beyond an Average overall experience. Total smoking time was 2 hours and 9 minutes.
Jiunn: Rich and bold in flavors that is most fitting for after a heavier meal or cigar #2 or #3 of the day. The boldness and deliciousness of the earthy spice and wood notes mixed with the creamy and sweet coffee notes really hit the spot. Would absolutely smoke this Black Label Trading Co. Deliverance Nocturne Toro again.
