Partagas is launching “Cortado,” the brand’s first Connecticut Shade-wrapped offering and the first Partagas line to be handcrafted by artisans in Nicaragua. The new, four-cigar collection has just begin shipping to retailers.
Developed to optimize the tobaccos that comprise Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2020, the blend will be released in a single size called “Dalia.” Meticulously handcrafted according to the exacting standards set forth by Ramón Cifuentes, the legendary Cuban cigar maker who developed the Partagas brand, the 6.75” x 43 Dalia will sell for $17.99 per cigar, until the limited supply of 2,500 boxes is depleted.
The Partagas Legend Corona Extra Leyenda is an enjoyable smoking experience. With a complex flavor profile of cream, chocolate, leather, pepper, baking spices and loamy earth. I particularly enjoyed the vitola, and found the soft square press very comfortable.
The Partagas 1845 Extra Oscuro Rothschild really surprised me with subdued and nuanced flavors throughout. I was able to get 1 hour and 27 minutes of smoking time which was a great value. I'll be interested to see how this cigar compares in the other available vitolas.
This is another standard and typical offering from General Cigar. It's nothing to rave about nor be disappointed about. The flavor by itself was average to good, but the paper note did not meld well with the other notes.
