Team Cigar Review: Aging Room Rare Collection Scherzo

I found the Aging Room Rare Collection Scherzo to be a one-dimensional offering that delivered this dry and not your classic Nicaraguan flavor profile. It really showed some Honduran qualities in some ways, and not the Honduran qualities I enjoy. The strength and body diminishing in the second and final third helped, but only because the flavor profile would have not been enjoyable with additional strength.

Cigar News: Oliveros Gran Retorno Makes a Comeback

The Oliveros Gran Retorno is a small batch series of cigars featuring tobaccos that have undergone a unique aging process – with extra age in each of the three different stages. Most notable is the 33+ months of aging given these premium cigars inside individual cedar boxes which have always provided Oliveros Gran Retorno a complex flavor profile.

Team Cigar Review: Aging Room Bin No. 2 C Major

The Aging Room Bin No. 2 C Major had a nice first third, but from the second third on, started dropping flavors and became fairly average. The tight draw and light smoke production caused me to have to pay attention to the draws to keep things burning, which took some focus away from the flavor. I'd be interested in trying this in a smaller ring gauge to see what that effect that has on flavor.

Team Cigar Review: Aging Room Pura Cepa Mezzo

The Aging Room Pura Cepa Mezzo is a pretty good offering from the company and an interesting project being a Nicaraguan puro. I think this would be approachable to any level smoker as there are lots of things to like here. I would have no problem revisiting this cigar although the price point is a bit high.

Team Cigar Review: Aging Room Quattro F55M Vibrato

Reviewing my flavor notes, I basically just wrote about cardboard and variations of spice (baking spices and black pepper spice). These notes were too boring, especially for such a large sized cigar. If the cigar had more complexities working off the bread, coffee and nuts, this would have greatly enhanced the flavor profile. But as it stands, just an average tasting cigar.
