Parallel 49/Last Best It Came From the Mash Tun! was the last beer I poured in the assorted pack. I enjoyed this particular release, it struck a nice balance between being a saison and adding other interesting aspects of citrus and sweetness outside of the style.
The Caravel Hazy Horizon is a satisfying Hefeweizen that stands out in a number of categories. I wouldn't hesitate to order this again, and I'm going to seek this out on tap at a local beer pub in Calgary.
The Twa Dogs Parting Kiss shows you can make a beer with bourbon barrel character that isn't defined by that barrel aging. I found the flavors to be pleasant, balanced and enjoyable throughout. I'd pick up another one of these without hesitation.
I found the 2 Crows All In to be an enjoyable and sessionable Saison that wasn't too intense on any of the flavor components. I would categorize this as a training wheels Saison for people who struggle to get into the funky side of beer styles.
What's not to like on the Boombox Midnight Train (Batch 2)? Big coffee notes and subdued chocolate nibs and sweetness deliver satisfying and consistent flavors through the taste experience. I wouldn't hesitate to pick this up if I saw them on the shelf.
Are you looking for an Imperial Stout to smack your palate around and take you to flavortown? You should probably pour yourself an Omnipollo / BrewDog I Wanna Be Your Dog. Although the balance is completely blown out by enormous flavors of chocolate, espresso, vanilla and barrel influence, this is as Imperial as it gets.
The Beau's All Natural The Tom Green Beer is one to be enjoyed fresh. This time around the flavors are enjoyable and there is much more going on with both the flavor and the finish. The beer is still very well balanced. If you're looking for a milk stout that isn't bold and in your face, but still delivers subtle nuances of flavor and a great mouthfeel, this might be the beer for you.
The Red Bison Alta Mira is a big flavored stout that doesn't have a huge ABV % to go with it. It's entirely sessionable, with in your face flavors of coffee and toasted oats. The chocolate has a great creaminess to it, while the sweetness is more on the subdued side of things.
The Fernie Dark Horse Sour is a decent sour, although it doesn't break the mold for complexity, but is enjoyable. I found the flavor to hit it's high point once it warmed up closer to room temperature.
