The Powstanie Connecticut Justice had a nice start, with a good combination of flavors. It took a step down in the second third as the hay increased and pepper mellowed and remained at that level the rest of the way. This cigar was right on par with the Toro we reviewed previously. It's not a cigar I'd really see returning to, but those that like a slightly stronger Connecticut shade, it might fit the bill.
I thought the Powstanie Catastrophic Failure overall delivered rich flavors through the first and second third, with the profile at medium-plus richness throughout. The cigar intensified through the bottom half becoming more earth forward. Based on the flavor performance alone, this is a cigar I would seek out again, if it were still available. Factoring in the price point, which is below average for the 2025 market, I think this is an easy choice for anyone looking for a fuller bodied cigar, or anyone already a fan of the Powstanie offerings.
The Powstanie San Andrés Toro delivered nuanced, complex and layered flavors through most of the review experience, really highlighting some of the best characteristics of Mexican San Andrés tobacco. The construction was on point with a perfect burn and draw. While the price point is slightly above average for the 2025 market, I'm happy to seek these out for what I got out of it.
This Powstanie Connecticut Toro is a nice showing of Connecticut Shade. I enjoyed the profile being more spice and tannins driven first and then followed by the softer side of sweet and creamy roasted mixed nuts. Great, especially for a kick starter of the day, or breakfast.
The Powstanie Wojtek 2021 Limited Edition had a nice start and the creamy coffee was a nice supporting note. The second third dropped down as the toast level became heavy and maintained that level for the rest of the cigar. Overall, the cigar was fairly average as it couldn't hold on to that profile from the first third. With the high price point, it's not likely that I'd revisit this all that often.
The Powstanie Wojtek had a pretty simple flavor profile with not much transition, but even so, it did it well. While the price is a bit high for a cigar of this size, it provided a longer than expected smoking time, so it does provide value with the flavor delivery and smoking length. I'd be happy to smoke more of these and would have no problem recommending that others give this a try.
