For those that are fans of what comes out of Fabrica Oveja Negra, they'll find something they recognize and can enjoy in the Black Label Trading Company Santa Muerte 2017 Corona Gorda. For me, the profile was a bit too linear and I would prefer a bit more complexity as I found the profile to lose my attention as it got into the second half.
For those that are fans of the dark flavors and strength that normally comes out of the Fabrica Oveja Negra factory, they'll find something they like in the Emilio Grimalkin Toro as it follows a similar path. I could see myself enjoying more of these from time to time.
The Black Works Studio S&R Lancero is a nice offering in the brands portfolio and the strength, while above medium, isn't overpowering and is balanced with the flavor profile. I would have no problem smoking more of these and think fans of the brand and those that like lanceros are bound to find a favorite here.
This release commemorates the Fifth Anniversary of both the company and its first limited release, Morphine. To celebrate the Anniversary the Lancero features a barber pole with Ecuador Maduro and San Andres Wrappers. The Short Robusto comes in Box Press and the original release Corona vitola returns.
James Brown, owner of Fabrica Oveja Negra and Black Label Trading Co., is pleased to announce a collaboration with Jim “Island Jim” Robinson on the Leaf by James. This cigar is hand crafted in Esteli, Nicaragua at Fabrica Oveja Negra.
While the Killer Bee Lonsdale is exclusively an event only offering, the flavor profile and strength levels fall neatly into the medium to medium plus category. If you're attending a Black Label Trading Company / Black Works Studio event, you would do well to pick up a few of these to try out for yourself.
Black Label Trading Company is pleased to announce they are shipping Bishops Blend vintage 2018 to select retailers later this month. Bishops Blend is hand crafted in Esteli, Nicaragua at Fabrica Oveja Negra.
