Team Cigar Review: SP1014 Black 6x54

Team Cigar Review: SP1014 Black 6×54

Words I used like balanced and nuanced are positive indicators of a good cigar. However, when these words are paired with light flavors, then it becomes not as good. If the flavors were fuller like the second third, the smoking experience would be entirely different. But as is, the thin flavors created an overall lackluster smoking experience with the SP1014 Black 6x54, in which I will pass on in the future.

Team Cigar Review: Freud AlterEgo Robusto

Team Cigar Review: Freud AlterEgo Robusto

$26.00 is a little high for a cigar of this offering, but the Freud AlterEgo Robusto is an enjoyable blend. The first two thirds were really enjoyable, and I think if the final third had kept that going I would have been impressed. I do think the packaging hurts the overall cigar, but some would say I am a curmudgeon in that field. It was not over the top in terms of the Mexican wrapper flavors.

Team Cigar Review: Freud Agape

Team Cigar Review: Freud Agape

A delicious cigar through and through. At first glance, given the loud (and slightly obnoxious) massive cigar band, I scoffed at the Freud Agape. But after smoking it, this was one of the most flavorful and balanced cigars that I have had in quite some time. Fans of especially Davidoff and Kelner Boutique Factory made cigars should not pass this up.

Team Cigar Review: Davidoff Special 53 Capa Dominicana

Team Cigar Review: Davidoff Special 53 Capa Dominicana

In the giant scheme of things, the Davidoff Special 53 Capa Dominicana is a good cigar. The perfecto smokes wonderfully and it produces flavors of cocoa, spices, coffee and wood. As a limited, special, and even Davidoff release, it is justified in saying the cigar is disappointing. I was hoping for a little bit more in the flavor department and that Davidoff could show an even better Dominican puro than they have released in the past.

Personal Cigar Review: Davidoff Cigar Dojo Exclusive 2018

Personal Cigar Review: Davidoff Cigar Dojo Exclusive 2018

The Davidoff Cigar Dojo Exclusive 2018 had a nice start, although the intense black pepper was a bit surprising. After the first third, the profile became average and a typical Davidoff White Label experience. I didn't find much unique about this iteration, but there wasn't anything bad about it. If you're a fan of Davidoff White Labels, you're sure to find something you'll like here.

Team Cigar Review: Davidoff The Master Selection 2007

Team Cigar Review: Davidoff The Master Selection 2007

This being the third Davidoff Master Selection reviewed (first two being 2008 and 2010), the way I see it (so far) is, all the Master Selection series deliver a supreme level of nuances, transitions and fairly complex flavors. This 2007 had moments of greatness, especially halfway through, but it is just as good as the 2008. A good cigar to celebrate with if budget allows.

Team Cigar Review: AVO 22

Team Cigar Review: AVO 22

While I'd gladly smoke more, it probably isn't something I'd go out of my way to smoke again which is a bit of an odd conclusion based on how the cigar scored for me. As an anniversary cigar for the brand, I think it is a good representation of the core lines and what the brand was built on.

Personal Cigar Review: Davidoff Gusto

Personal Cigar Review: Davidoff Gusto

The Davidoff Gusto delivers what I love about Ecuadorian Sumatra offerings and while it is limited and pricey, it is deserving on all fronts. If you have not yet smoked them, and you can get them, I highly recommend you pick them up. If there were more Ecuadorian Sumatra offerings on the market like this, I would be a happy man!

Team Cigar Review: Davidoff The Master Selection 2008

Team Cigar Review: Davidoff The Master Selection 2008

The Davidoff The Master Selection 2008 smokes well now and will smoke only better with age. It has a great flavor profile that changes throughout and while the flavors are core flavors in the sense that they are always present, it is their dominance which changes and that is always a fun experience.
